Keep Roswell Beautiful offers an easy way for local groups to get involved in the community through the Adopt-A-Road program. Sponsored by the City of Roswell’s Public Works/Environmental Department, Adopt-A-Road cleanups have an immediate and visible impact on our environment by removing litter along roadsides.
Why should your group consider participating in Adopt-A-Road?
- It’s easy – There’s no special training necessary. The Public Works/Environmental department furnishes all supplies, including yellow safety vests.
- It’s satisfying – Your group will make an instant impact on our environment.
- It’s rewarding – The Roswell DOT provides and sets up a road sign designating sections of roadway as “belonging” to your organization and also coordinates media coverage of the program.
On your end, your group will need to coordinate volunteers for litter cleanup on an as-needed basis, with a minimum of six cleanups per year. After each cleanup, simply report your results via the online form (http://roswellgov.com/forms.aspx?FID=56).
Keep in mind that there are age restrictions to this program due to safety considerations.
